AJACCIO is the capital of Corsica, situated on the West coast of the island. It was the birthplace of Napolean Bonaparte in 1769. You can visit his ancestral home today which has been turned into a museum. It has a very beautiful sea front and the town is really enjoyable to walk around, especially when the farmers market is on!

TOP TIP - It can get quite windy here, hence all the sailing activity, so make sure you take a jacket or cardigan ashore with you!

TOP TIP - I found a great place for coffee right on the beach at the far end. Click on the Thumbnail below.

TOP TIP - If your next stop is Genoa from here I would take a sea sickness tablet before your evening meal onboard, the sea can get quite rough on this leg of your journey!
